It’s already february?
A quick check-in.
The bookbinding experiment is no longer an experiment. I’ve got materials in hand, mistakes behind me, and real progress on the bench. This part is slow, tactile, and stubborn, and I kind of like it that way. These aren’t mass-produced objects. They’re meant to be handled, owned, and kept. Look for a promo video all about it within the next two week, with examples even.
Space Cheese II is sitting just over 20,000 words and still having a good time. That matters. If I’m laughing while writing it, it’s probably doing what it’s supposed to do.
In the spaces between projects, I’ve also been working on a short story compilation. Small ideas. Sharp landings. End-of-the-world moments that don’t need a full novel to hit hard. It’s been a good reminder that not everything needs to be big to be finished; it’s kind of the way I first started writing—just a blank page with only a feeling to go off of. Nothing here feels rushed. Nothing feels stalled. Just steady work, done on purpose.
That’s enough for now. Back to it.
