It’s a New Year
A quick look back on 2025:
I wrote and published Tiger Island.
I wrote and published Space Cheese (and laughed my ass off doing it).
I sold a few copies of each.
It was a good year. Two books ain’t nothing to laugh at. I need to stop the self-doubt and own that I just did that. I wrote and published two books. Of course shelving the self-doubt is always easier said than done. But I did it. I did it.
And now for 2026?
I’m going to do it again. I’m already underway writing Space Cheese II. And I think I’ve grappled with the mental gymnastics of Tetch’s backstory for The Animal In Us. Not going to lie. Tetch’s backstory is daunting. I will be headed back into a dark space where Tetch lives—where the bear lives.
So, that’s on my plate. What else? I’m going wide and I’m going direct. The direct part has already happened. This updated website now offers you, the reader, a way to buy my ebooks direct from me—no middleman. But there will be more. See, I have a plan. And I truly hope it works out. What’s the plan, you ask?
Book binding. I will be learning how to bind my own books, and offering those to you to purchase here. These will be one-of-a-kind custom books. No two will be quite the same. They’ll be signed. Some swag might come with them. That’s the plan. I also think you authors out there might want such a service for your own books. Let me know in the comments if that’s something that interests you.
What else? I want to get out there in public and sell direct to you, the reader. Fairs, comic cons, etc. Am I more comfortable sitting at home just typing away? Oh yeah. Doesn’t matter. I need to push myself. So, this is me pushing myself.
That’s a lot for 2026. Wish me luck. Charge!
